  1. Drink of choice?
A nice glass of Riesling  sounds pretty good right now
  2. If you could pick a new first name, what would it be?
I don’t know, but something with only one common spelling and one that people understood on the first try hahaha! I never got to have a personalized cup or anything as a child and I’ve been mistaken as so many names, from Janice to Shannon, many people just don’t get “Tannis”
  3. Share a personal fact that most people wouldn’t know about you:
I get very anxious about being late, but also about showing up too early, it’s a very fine line I walk (and unfortunately, usually end up being late anyways).
  4. What were you like in highschool?
Oooh so not cool, those were not my “glory days”
  5. If you had to start all over again, what would you want for a career?
Probably something a long the lines of an interior designer, I really like picking out different finishes and home decor.

  1. What is your bucket list destination that you want to travel to?
I would love to go to Kauai. I love Hawaii. I have been to Oahu and Maui and would love to see al the Islands one day. However, Kauai is on the top of my list.  There is something so magical and mystical about the Hawaiian Islands. Besides their obvious beauty, the islands hold a place for me where I can connect to that “something” that exists in “all things” more easily than anywhere else that I have experienced.
  2. Describe yourself in 3 words?
    Strong, Courageous, Determined.
  3. Describe your first class?
I was practicing another form of yoga when my daughter asked me to go with her to a Bikram class. I complained that I didn’t like the heat and that I didn’t think it was for me. She was very persistent so I ended up going with her. Although my first class was very hot, very hard and more challenging than anything I had ever done before, I was hooked and I have never looked back since!!!!
  4. What is your favourite city/town and why?
Vernon, of course!! I love Vernon! Beside having the best yoga studio EVER, Vernon is such a pretty place to live. I feel truly blessed to live in a place that has so much natural beauty right outside my front door!
  5. Do you have a posture/move that you used to despise but now have a newfound appreciation for?
Standing head to knee. I have been practicing for over six years now, and I am still at the first stages of this posture. I used to hate that I made very little progress in this posture. However, I now look at the posture as a tool that is teaching me something about myself.
Through the posture I learn about my strengths, weaknesses and frustrations! But most of all, I learn about how to let go of limiting beliefs that hold me back not only inside the hot room but outside of the hot room as well. I have learned to truly appreciate this posture for what it is……. a tool to learn about myself!!

    The Japanese ham, obviously. Haha.
